Re: Graphical network usage in the works?

You mean this one?

If you are not seeing that, then it might be because you are not running as admin or maybe you need to install the plugin.

Re: Optimizing Saved Strings Results

It would also be good to have the export format use tab (or comma) separated values. Then it could be loaded into a program like Excel, where one could more easily manipulate the data (e.g. delete the address and size columns then de-dupe).

Michaelscopy, I think you should make a separate topic for that.

Re: Possibility to change CPU history background

I believe it already is a light colour by default. Go to Hacker > Options > Graphs and untick "use old colors (black background)"

Re: Game Mode

I suppose the idea is for Process Hacker to do that automatically for certain processes (identified by executable or something). Though it sounds to me like this would be a good idea for a separate stand-alone app, or perhaps a Process Hacker plug-in. By the way, what don't you like about Process La...

Yes, I noticed, thank you.
Co-incidentally, I was going to reply a few days ago but I didn't want to dig up an ancient thread.

Re: Unloaded Strings

I don't understand that expression, "come off all by themselves". What programming language are you talking about? Do you mean garbage collection? Process Hacker already has a "String Search" feature, which scans the memory of a process looking for regions that look like strings (i.e. bytes in the A...

Re: Unloaded Strings

What would it mean for a string to be "unloaded"? Are you suggesting that Process Hacker remember strings it has detected even after they no longer exist in memory (either because they have been deleted or modified)?

Just out of curiosity, where do I find this "Unloaded Modules" feature?

Re: Custom file browser

Does PH call "explorer.exe" directly to open the folder, or does it use the shell? If it uses the later, then xnb might be able to configure Windows to use Total Commander as the default handler for opening folders.

Special search terms

Sometimes I want to see new processes, but I may not see them if they appear further down in the list. I don't want to enable "Scroll to new processes", as I often want to look at something in the list and don't care if new processes are being created elsewhere in the list. I thought it would be a g...

Re: How can I stop the graphs from changing?

Yeah, it must have been Windows not respecting the order.
I took a look at the PH code, and it is adding the icons in the same order each time (PhNfLoadStage1 and PhNfLoadStage2 functions in notifico.c).

Re: How can I stop the graphs from changing?

Hmm, well I suppose PH might be able to control when those icons are shown, and hence could show them in a particular order.

Re: Possibility for process blacklist?

I believe they are just talking about hiding it in the Process Hacker UI, i.e. the list in the "Processes" tab. @Phloog: As a work-around, you could use the search box to filter the list down to just the ones you care about, if you can find something they all have in common (i.e. filter by user name...

Re: How can I stop the graphs from changing?

That looks like it's the graphs in the system tray (or whatever it's called). As far as I know, you cannot directly control the order in which the icons are shown. They seem to show in the order in which the applications load.
Perhaps there is a 3rd party application which allows you to control this.

Weird, I *did* run the installer setup. Not sure if I still had PH running when I started the installer.

Re: Possible bug in NetAdapters.dll

I get "NetAdapters.dll: The specified procedure could not be found." under 64-bit Windows 7. Delete the NetAdapters.dll from the plugin folder... It's not compatible with the latest version of Process Hacker and has been replaced by the newer HardwareDevices plugin (which also includes disk support...

Re: no white backgrounds

The most simple way would be modifying the nodes to use the system colors instead of hard-coded values by default: getNodeColor.BackColor = GetSysColor(COLOR_WINDOW); getNodeColor.ForeColor = GetSysColor(COLOR_WINDOWTEXT); However sicne their cached, you end up with random drawing until PH is resta...

Show exit code when logging process terminations

Is it possible to have PH show the exit status code in the Log, when a process terminates?
e.g.
"Process terminated: Something.exe (1234) with status 0"
