Re: A couple of changes to the (main) Services tab

1. Yeah, I guess I want the feature that much. :D 2. Yeah, I'd complain about the text too. Focusing it to the start type is even more useful! :D 3. Well, a lot of times when you start typing, a driver with a similar name focuses instead of a service. It's really _too_ easy to accidentally think you...

Re: A couple of changes to the (main) Services tab

Oh, another couple of changes: 3. Allowing for an option to group the Services by the kind of service (i.e. driver vs. user-mode) would be great, since right now, it's too easy to accidentally select a driver instead of a user-mode service. 4. Add a Descriptions column to the Services tab, instead o...

A couple of changes to the (main) Services tab

Would it be possible to pleaes make these couple of changes to the services tab? 1. Make incremental search look at the Display Name instead of the service Name. As a user, I really don't care that Desktop Window Manager's name is UxSms, nor that SuperFetch is SysMain, etc... I just click in the lis...

Just because I'm so nice, I've added an setting called CloseOnEscape. :p: It's not available from the GUI, so you'll have to edit settings.xml.

+1, thanks!! :)

Re: PH hangs when used on a process with WH_KEYBOARD_LL

It was a release build. I'll try reproducing it with a debug build and see what happens.

PH hangs when used on a process with WH_KEYBOARD_LL

I have a process that uses a low-level keyboard hook (WH_KEYBOARD_LL), and whenever I hover on it with PH, PH freezes completely. If I navigate to the process with the keyboard, though, I can still open the Properties window and do some stuff.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Re: New Terminator function: detach from debugger

You sure?

It didn't work for me once then, I had to manually stop debugging in Visual Studio.

Re: Same Graph, Multiple Lines?

Not if it's anti-aliased, like Gnome's System Monitor!

Same Graph, Multiple Lines?

Would it be possible to have the same CPU graph show one line for each CPU?

Showing them separately has the problem of making each window small, while showing them in a combined fashion also has obvious disadvantages.

Re: Press Escape to Close

> It's non-standard behavior. Non-standard in general, I agree, but standard for this type of program (because of how it's used). But either way, thanks for the explanation, that's all I was looking for at this point. :) The cool thing is that you made the program open-source, so I can tweak it myse...

Re: Press Escape to Close

BTW: PH is not a regular program. Neither is PE or Task Manager. They're all meant to be opened for a short period (e.g. a couple of minutes max -- normally for a few seconds) and immediately closed (at least by default -- of course you can force them to 'hide' in the tray, but I haven't even seen y...

Re: Press Escape to Close

Um, what? :?: IMHO the two most relevant examples are Task Manager and Process Explorer, don't you think? Or do you think ImDisk, Launchy, etc. would be better examples? I guess the real question is: Why isn't it a good idea, i.e. what harm does it do? I don't think I've ever closed PE by pressing E...

Press Escape to Close

I'm not sure if I ever suggested this (pardon any duplication), but it would be nice to be able to Close (NOT hide) PH using the Escape key, like you can with Process Explorer and Task Manager.

New Terminator function: detach from debugger

Apparently, if a process is being debugged then Terminator can't terminate it in any way.

Would it be a good idea for the first option to be to detach the process and try to terminate it normally? (The user isn't always paying attention to whether or not a process is being debugged.)

OOOOOOH now I see what you mean!

Yeah my bad, that's not the one I meant -- I can definitely see how that's really confusing!

Thanks!
