Frequent crashes on Surface Pro suspend and resume

09 Oct 2016, 10:07

Process Hacker works stable now on a PC, but on the Surface Pro 4 (Windows 10) it often simply disappears after suspend and resume. The tray icon remains in place but is dead, and it disappears on hovering it. There are no crash logs available. Nothing in Windows event log. Running the latest stable version.

Do you have 'Tablet mode' enabled on Windows 10?

No, I'm almost always in desktop mode, with the Type Cover attached. Yesterday evening it was still there, it was just powered off with the Type Cover closed over night, and today PH was gone after resuming.

You need to upload or email me the crash dumps for Process Hacker since we don't have a Surface Pro to figure out what's causing the problem.

This registry file enables crashdumps just for Process Hacker and saves the dump files into "C:\\Crashdumps":
dump_processhacker_on_crash.reg
(315 Bytes) Downloaded 12 times
You can add dump files as forum attachments or email them to dmex04 at gmail.com.. Thanks

I will set this up and wait for the next unexpected termination.
