Tooltip generation for "Command Line" column is unreasonably slow

12 Oct 2016, 09:58

I regularly have more than 10 processes running with a command line which is about 600 characters long. If I enable the "Command Line" column in the processes and hover over such a process "Command Line" column, it takes 27seconds for that tooltip to show. During this time Process Hacker becomes unresponsive, so it is rather annoying just having the "Command Line" column enabled.

This is with Process Hacker 2.39.124 on 64-bit Windows 7 with a Xeon E5-2630 @ 2.3GHz.

This shouldn't be an issue anymore since the tooltip limits text to 100 characters:
