Do not pay attention to such "AV publications" - unfair competition and advertising, no more. Antivirus companies artificially increase lists of "detected malware" in order to increase the volume of sales of their services and products including arbitrary programs in them without providing evidence of their harmfulness.
AV companies offer you to believe them on your word, and when you forgive "Prove your words with facts!" You are told "We have such evidence, but they are a commercial secret of the company, and therefore are not subject to publication!" Since most of the records in their AV databases are either years of not excluding false positives, or entries added for commercial reasons - everyone wants to eat, and money does not smell.
The real number of malicious algorithms discovered in the last quarter of a century is about seven thousand, and records in AV bases are millions - Business is business! © uncle Sam.
