Collapse chrome.exe and similar self-spawning processes by default

20 Nov 2015 07:21

It would be great if there could be an option to collapse processes like chrome.exe by default, just as there is for services.exe.
Their children take up half the screen estate and don't let me see other processes.

Perhaps wiser to add a fourth mode of the display mode of the main window "tasks" in which the process tree is displayed them collapsed to the level of task performance and output will display the progress of its implementation, taking into account all the running she subtasks and processes.

In principle, mainframe (such as the IBM OS/360 / IBM OS/370, DEC OpenVMS / OSF/1 for Alpha Server AXP 7000 / 10000) in the operator console information about the installation is displayed in this form that allows the operator to quickly make the right decision and details of the system programmer sees only going from your console.

I've made CollapseChrome plugin.

It'd be nice if someone will make a customizable version that accepts a list of exe names to collapse, for example csrss.exe tree with conhost.exe is pretty meaningless and for developers it might be useful to also hide devenv.exe tree.
