Ace

DrWeb - Tool.ProcessHacker.2, Kaspersky & ZoneAlarm- not-a-virus:HEUR:RiskTool.Win32.ProcHack.gen, Panda - HackingTool/ProcHack, Sophos AV Process Hacker Kernel Driver (PUA)

The messages of these antiviruses say - "The use of this tool requires knowledge and in inept hands it can be dangerous!". And they say it right.

No they don't.

"HackingTool"
"not-a-virus"
"Process Hacker Kernel Driver"

These types of messages and classifications by Antivirus companies are deliberately ambiguous to dupe unsuspecting customers into thinking their products are protecting them against threats and security issues that just don't exist.

The entire project is open-source and available on Github for anyone to review anytime and report issues. Yet somehow not one of those antivirus companies contacted the development team and reported any issues with the source-code or our binaries.

I think it's blatantly obvious AV companies are targeting Process Hacker not because of anything malicious or illegal but instead because it's able to identify and terminate threats that have bypassed their products and more of a threat to their bottom line. Customers need to ask these companies some serious questions about these type of classifications and demand a refund for shoddy and misleading business practices.

I just started getting this from Norton Image

Norton wants to remove the file. Norton version is 22.16.3.21. Process Hacker 2 2.39.

I've been using Process Hacker for eons, and it's not a new version.

You can exclude the file from Norton, but if there's a way to tell Norton that this file is OK, that would probably save people some time.

Just add PH to exceptions. Symantec  "I find new unknown virus and delete it! Your system is protected form .... FreeBSD UNIX source code - "This is a very dangerous newest virus! Therefore, it is deleted without checking whether it is a virus !? Our anonymous user said a virus! Users need to believe!" This was what we once did, including the correspondence with their heat support saying that once the FreeBSD 8.1 CURRENT for AXP ports (Alha, Alpha AXP, AXP is trade mark for 64-bit DEC Alpha 21x64/21066/21068 RISC CPU have nVAX+ command set) is not Windows, which means it is a virus :) after which SAV CE was driven out of the network in disgrace.:)

You can also submit a false positive report to Norton, if it is flagging PH as malware on your machine.
